James Blunt
James Hillier Blount (born 22 February 1974),
better known by his stage name JAMES
BLUNT,
is an English singer-songwriter,
musician and
former army captain.
Blunt rose to prominence in 2005
with the release of his debut studio
album “Back to Bedlam” , before achieving
worldwide fame with the singles You're beautiful and Goodbye My Lover.
The album sold over 11 million copies worldwide, topping the charts in the United Kingdom
and peaked at number 2 in the United States.
His second album "All the Lost
Souls", which was released in 2007, topped the charts
in over 20 countries, and produced the hit single 1973.
His third album, "Some Kind of
Trouble", was released
in 2010,
after its lead single Stay the Night.
A deluxe edition was released the following year,
titled "Some Kind of Trouble: Revisited".
His next album, "Moon Landing" 2013, was preceded by the lead single Bonfire Heart,
which peaked at number 4 in the UK Singles Chart, following promotion on the
BBC One radio show The One Show and The Graham Norton Show,
as well as receiving extensive radio airplay.

Blunt has sold over 20 million albums worldwide, with his debut album, “Back to Bedlam”,
being listed as the best selling album of the 2000's in the United Kingdom.
Blunt was an officer in the British Army Life
Guards,
a cavalry regiment of the British Army, and served under NATO
in Kosovo during the
conflict in 1999.
While posted to Kosovo, Blunt was introduced to the work of
Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF or "Doctors Without Borders").
Since then, Blunt has been an active supporter of MSF by holding meet-and-greet auctions
at many of his concerts, and filming the documentary Return to Kosovo,
in which he visited the people and places he had encountered while stationed there.
He has received several awards, including two Brit Awards, two MTV Video Music Awards,
two Ivor Novello Awards as well as receiving five Grammy Award nominations.
Blunt was a reconnaissance officer in the Life Guards, a cavalry regiment of the British Army,too.
He was awarded an Honorary Doctorate for Music in 2016 by University of Bristol.

James n'échappe pas à la règle et il s'engage dans l'armée de l'air britannique après avoir suivi des études dans l'aérospatiale.
Il atteint le grade de capitaine
et participe à la mission de l'ONU au Kosovo.

dans sa famille,
il apprend le violon à 5 ans, le piano à 7 et la guitare électrique à 14 ans.
Pendant son séjour au Kosovo, il prend conscience de son intérêt pour la musique et compose la chanson No Bravery où il parle de la guerre.
Il quitte l'armée en 2002 pour se consacrer à
la musique.
Remarqué par la manager de Pink et Christina Aguilera,
James Blunt enregistre l'album Back to Bedlam en 2004.
Le single You're beautiful sera numéro 1 dans de nombreux pays,
faisant de James Blunt l'un des artistes les plus connus au monde.
En 2006, il remporte le NRJ Music Award
de la révélation internationale de l'année.
Depuis Elton John, il est le premier artiste britannique
à arriver en tête des ventes aux USA.
En 2006, le chanteur sort un album live de son
concert en Irlande, Chasing
Time : The Bedlam Sessions.
James Blunt participe également au nouvel album du rappeur français Sinik en produisant la chanson Je réalise, en 2007.
La même année, il revient avec l'album All the Lost Souls,
alternant ballades romantiques et sons pop rock.
Après une relation de deux ans avec le top
model Petra Nemcova,
le chanteur est à nouveau célibataire.
